Grandma Theresa was in Arizona from January 28, 2009 to August 7, 2009.
Entering Las Vegas
I am finally in Nevada.

Canada's Mustard Crops Grandma Theresa embarked on another great adventure outside Alaska. On January 28, 2009, she shipped her car to Tacoma and her belongings to Sierra Vista, AZ. She flew to SeaTac and spent the night in Seattle before taking the shuttle to Tacoma to pick up her car. She drove from Tacoma to Sierra Vista. It takes approximately two and a half days. On the way, she bravely drove maneuvered through Santa Monica Blvd in LA during rush hour traffic on her way to Palm Springs where she spent the night. Her sister Anna drove her Harley to meet her about 100 miles from her destination.
Here is Grandma's car parked at Sister Anna and Brother-In-Law Bill's house in Sierra Vista. Grandma eventually settled in Bisbee to enjoy her partial sabbatical. During that time period, she also traveled to Cottonwood, AZ where she had to drive through Pheonix and she visited Tombstone, Douglas, Benson, Tucson and all the other little towns inbetween.
This is where Grandma lived in Bisbee, AZ. The house on the right is the carriage house attached to the Greenway Mansion.
Grandma's had two computers set up in AZ, so telecommuting was easy. Prior to that, she used her laptop.

This is another view outside her window.
This is an old claw foot bathtub modernized. Grandma wonders why we don't still use claw tubs.
In Bisbee (Tombstone Canyon Road), they built their homes in tiers up the side of the mountain. As you're driving down the highway and you see Bisbee in this little canyon, it takes your breath away. It is amazing that people over 100 years ago built this town. Grandma's sister Anna and her friend Betsy on their trip to the Copper Mining Pit.
The Bisbee Copper Mining Pit is massive. This is only a portion of it. Grandma lived just behind the pit - literally. If you could somehow climb the wall, her house is on the other side.
Grandma's first Bisbee Shopping Trip. Beautiful architecture in this little city.
Further up the hill in Old Bisbee, is the courthouse. To the left of the pole are a set of steps. People in Bisbee sometimes have to climb the steps to get home if they do not have a place to park. Grandma spent her birthday with her Sister and Brother-in-Law. They treated her to dinner at a Texas Steakhouse. Right now, they are choosing a rose from their rose bush for her to take home. |
